Completed Bike Projects 2009

  • Washington Avenue at Highway 58: This bridge is now complete, with pedestrian crossings and bike lanes on both sides. The improvements make travel safer for all, and restore an important link between North Golden and downtown.

  • Highway 6 and 19th Street: Work now completed on the pedestrian improvements at the intersection of US 6 and 19th Street.  The project added and widened sidewalks, constructed triangular raised islands on all four corners, and upgraded the signals that help pedestrians and bikes cross the intersection.

  • Ford Street and 14th Street: Repaved the street with wider bike lane, removed existing hazardaous drainage grate, and added a new curb and ADA ramp.

  • Bell Middle School: Signed and marked bike lanes on Ulysses north of W. 10th, and on W. 10th from Johnson to Ulysses, where a sidewalk will also be constructed on the north side.

  • Mitchell Elementary School: Signed and marked bike lanes on Iowa from Hwy 93 to Ford Street, and on Washington Ave. from 6th Street north to Highway 93.

  • Shelton Elementary School: Both Kimball Avenue and Crawford Street have wider sidewalks, narrower traffice lanes and other traffic calming measures that make it easier and safer for kids to walk or bike to Shelton.

  • Ford Street and 14th Street: Repaved the street, removed hazardaous drainage grate, constructed a concrete pan and a new inlet, added a new curb and ADA ramp, and widened the bike lane.

  • Illinois Street: Trail connection now complete between Illinois Street and Highway 6 trail.
