I have decided not to run for reelection from Ward 1. 

My personal situation has changed enough that when I considered whether I should run, I decided against it.  Something has to give in my time schedule and I decided that my city council time was what needed to give.

I encourage all of you to consider running.  If you know someone from Ward 1 who you think would be a good councilor, I encourage you to urge them to consider it.  I will be happy to meet with any potential candidates to give my overview of what is happening in the ward and the city and generally get people up to speed as they consider whether they can or want to "take the big step."

I certainly have enjoyed much of my time on council and have learned a lot about many things in the last 3 years.
