The City of Golden provides youth, adult and senior recreation and leisure programs and services for all skill levels and abilities. The Golden Community Center is the primary location for indoor recreation including arts and crafts, fitness, dance, youth athletics, aquatics, day camps, trips and tours; and the state-licensed, 4 Star Qualstar rated, Golden Preschool.
Outdoor recreation programs and services offered by the Recreation Division include adult softball, basketball, kickball, and volleyball leagues and tournaments; tennis lessons and tennis teams; youth summer track; youth soccer, baseball, flag football and lacrosse to name a few.
The Recreation Division actively participates in the Colorado Association for Recreational Athletics (CARA) and the Preschool Licensing and Youth Association (PLAY), both sections of the Colorado Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) professional organization. Over 100 recreation programs are available to the residents of Golden along with an estimated 12,000 non-residents served by the Accredited Golden Parks and Recreation Department.
